Rabbi zidni 'ilma

"My Lord, increase me in knowledge."

Rabbi ishrah li sadri wa yassir li amri wahlul uqdatan min lisani yafqahu qawli

"My Lord, expand for me my breast (with assurance) and ease for me my task and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech."

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhabannar

"Our Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minadh-dhalimin

"There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

Rabbi inni massaniyad-durru wa anta arhamur-rahimin

"My Lord, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful."

Ihdinas-siratal mustaqim

"Guide us to the straight path – the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favour, not of those who have evoked Your anger or of those who are astray."

Rabbi j'al hadha baladan aminan warzuq ahlahu minas-samarat

"My Lord, make this a secure city and provide its people with fruits – whoever of them believes in Allah and the Last Day."

Rabbana la tuzigh qulubana ba'da idh hadaytana wa hab lana min ladunka rahmah

"Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower."

Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna 'alal qawmil kafirin

"Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

Rabbi hab li min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka sami'ud-du'a

"My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."
